About the Journal

Introduction

Predecessors in title of Acta Agronomica Óváriensis scientific journal had been the followings:

  • Mosonmagyaróvári Mezőgazdasági Akadémia Közleményei (1958-1962).
  • Mosonmagyaróvári Agrártudományi Főiskola Közleményei (1963-1969).
  • Mosonmagyaróvári Mezőgazdaságtudományi Kar Közleményei: Acta Ovariensis (1970-1992).

Acta Agronomica Óváriensis was first published by West Hungarian University, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences Mosonmagyaróvár (1993-2014), then parallel with changing the name of the university since 2016 the journal was published under the title Proceedings of Széchenyi István University, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences Mosonmagyaróvár. Name of the faculty had changed in 2022 to Albert Kázmér Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, Mosonmagyaróvár.

Agricultural sciences always led a leading role in Hungary, both in scientific and in practical fields. We aim to publish papers from all over the world, connected to the following topics: agricultural engineering; agricultural economics, rural development; animal sciences and nutrition (both livestock species and wildlife); food sciences; plant, water and environmental sciences; fishing, applied zoology and nature protection; precision farming.

Review articles about given topic are also welcome, next to original research articles. Publishing keynote articles is also planned and the journal promotes publishing the results of young researchers. 

The scientific journal is published by Albert Kázmér Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary. Such well-known researchers edited the journal previously, as Zoltán Varga, associate professor (2007-2014), Éva Szalka, associate professor (2015-2023).

Acta Agronomica Óváriensis is published twice a year, in June and December.

About the journal

Acta Agronomica Óváriensis scientific journal was founded in 1993, from 2016 it is published online.

Mission statement

The journal provides a publishing opportunity to the best pre- and post-graduate university students involved in research and supports the work of teachers, researchers. Next to publishing the results our aim is to help university teachers, researchers to demonstrate students the meaning the methods of scientific research.

Keywords
Based on the following fields of science (agro mechanics; agro-economics, rural development; animal sciences and nutrition (both livestock species and wildlife); food sciences; plant, water and environmental sciences; fishing, applied zoology and nature protection; precision farming), 4-5 words, e.g. livestock, nutritional need, feed analytics, product quality.

Hungarian and English

Publishing intensity
Regular issues published twice a year, and net to those, special issues also can be published. Certain articles can appear online before publishing the given issue, with ”In Press” notice.

Reviewing
Reviewing is a twice-blind process, manuscripts send are reviewed by two professionals anonymously.

Financial support
Fees are not applied for handling and reviewing the manuscripts, neither for publishing in case of being accepted. The journal provides an immediate open access to the materials, doesn’t set any financial or legal boundaries for utilising scientific results freely, according to the laws. 

Open access
The journal is Open Access (Platinum). Creative Commons 4.0 standard licence type CC-BY-NC-ND-4.0 is applicable to its articles. The materials can be copied, distributed, presented freely, but can’t be utilised for commercial purposes (NC), furthermore can’t be altered, can’t be a source for adaptation, revision or derivative work (ND). The name of the author and title of the original work must be indicated as required by the author or the right holder based on the license (BY).

The journal allows authors– without time limits and freely - to publish the accepted manuscripts, or their the non-final (pre-print) versions with reviewers’ suggestions by e-mails, on the homepages of the authors or their institutions, or in repositories of the authors’ institutions or universities, either open or with limited access, or in other non-profit servers. Authors must warn their readers in those cases, that this is not the final, published version of their article. After the final version of the article is already published, either in printed version or online it is suggested – and allowed – that authors use that final (post-print) version. In that case author must provide the exact place, data of publishing as well. Author will hold the author rights, but in case of republishing has to provide the bibliographical data of the first publishing.

Articles are archived in REÁL repository.

Data protection statement
Names and e-mail addresses provided for the editors are only used in the editorial process, for purposes agreed, we do not forward those to third parties.

Ethical issues
Ethical issues according publications are constantly followed and kept by editors of Acta Agronomica Óváriensis. Board of Editors is correcting the misprints and publishes erratum and correction if their contents are valid and doesn’t contain a plague.  

Screening for plagiarism
Authors must state their work being their original intellectual product and when utilise work, terms of others must cite them appropriately. All manuscripts sent undergo a plagiarism screening process.

Advertising policy
Acta Agronomica Óváriensis is not publishing advertisements.
