Abstract

Blockchain technology has become a widely researched and used tool to manage various databases. The primary reason for this is that it is a decentralized, distributed database system that allows transactions to be recorded in a secure and verifiable form. In recent years, with the advent of artificial intelligence (AI), the special attention to the technology has decreased somewhat, which helps real research, as numerous articles and internet news previously published on the topic without scientific basis have increased the "noise" on research. As in any new field, unsubstantiated claims are often made that have not been scientifically investigated and are based only on expert preconceptions. One such controversial subtopic is the use of blockchain technology in short food supply chains (SFSCs). It is generally believed that in this case the technology has no significant added value, as short chain actors generally know and trust each other. The aim of this research is to analyse the publications in the Scopus database in order to reveal what research has been done on this topic, what results have been obtained and how well founded the related claims are.
