A változó éghajlati viszonyok mellett egyre fontosabb a növények abiotikus stresszekkel szembeni tűrőképességének fokozása. A vízhiány stresszt polietilén-glikol (PEG) alkalmazásával kizárólag a végső betakarítás előtt idéztük elő (a 3. mintavételt megelőző 3 napban). PEG-stressz hatására a 2-es jelölt részben mérsékelte a gázcsere-paraméterek csökkenését, míg a 9-es jelölt növelte a virágok számát.
